Blissdom Canada was AWESOME!
I arrived home from Blissdom late last night due to a delayed flight. I *may* have looked like a bit of a zombie at work today. So….until I get a bit of sleep….there won’t be any long, drawn out posts (though look for them in the future!). All in all, Blissdom was a wonderful experience. Someone described it as “speed dating for bloggers”. It went by so, so fast and I felt like I didn’t get enough time to experience any part of it. Too bad it couldn’t have lasted for a week!
My Top 5 Blissdom Moments….
Moment 1: Exploring Toronto’s Kensington Market on a tour led by the wonderful Alexa Clark.
Moment 2: Even though I didn’t know who he was before his talk, Jian Ghomeshi won me over! I bought his book 1982 and he has a new fan girl.
Moment 3: Even though I am NOT a big fan of costume parties, going to the one at Blissdom as one of the women of Mad Men was so fun. We all looked fabulous! (I promise to find a good picture of the whole group before I post again.)
Moment 4: Breakfast at Caplansky’s Deli was a highlight. Meeting the owner, Zane, was great and it made me want to quit my job and open a restaurant pronto. Now if I only had the mad skills he does. Le sigh.
Moment 5: Hanging out with all my lovely blogger friends. There are too many pictures to even start to post. From the lovely Calgary ladies that I got to hang out with to all the bloggers from Eastern Canada, I loved every minute.
If you went to Blissdom, what was your favorite moment? If not, what would you like to hear about (or would you like me to stuff it)?

I loved the micro sessions. I wished that they had gone on for a lot longer. I could have done another full day of them really.

“Speed dating” seems about right:) So fast I didn’t have time to meet you:( but hopefully some other time. Love your pics. I go to kensington market for the best cheese!

Boo. I wish we had bumped into one another. It was so busy that it was hard to find people (or know who they were if you did).
Sounds like an amazing experience! Thanks for sharing!

Great recap!
I’m so glad we had a chance to meet on Sunday on the Foodie tour. I’m with Alisha on this, I loved the micro sessions but I wished we had more time i.e. another day!

I loved, loved, loved the Foodie tour! It was great to meet you too!
Stuff it! OK, not really. The market looks great! Would love to see more pics and hear more about it. And who is the cutie?

LOL…. The markets were amazing. They call it “Kensington Market” but it’s actually a neighborhood with tons of markets. We didn’t go in many of them as it was quite early on a Sunday and we were pressed for time. Later, we went to a cool grocery store and had a Soup-Off contest. It was so cool. I will definitely be posting more about that soon. Oh and the cutie is Jian Ghomeshi from CBC. He’s funny too!
I like your “Top 5 Moments” format. I jumped right into doing a long and drawn out post…but yours is refreshing!
It’s funny how we all have such a different experience of the same weekend, and come up with such a variety of highlights…but I totally agree with the speed-dating comparison.
I’d love to hear details of the microsessions you attended, as I would have loved to hit more, and I’m trying to soak up what everyone else learned!

Glad you like it! I wanted to post something but I didn’t have time to do a long, drawn out one. I love pictures so I thought…why not! I will post more about the microsessions that I attended. I’ll have to dig out my notes!
you didn’t know who Jian was?!??!? What an insult to my pretend boyfriend.
glad it was such a good experience.
No….he’s MY pretend boyfriend….and he just tweeted me to say it was great to meet me. Swoon!
now i’m jealous!
Your group of costumes were AMAZING. I loved them.
My highlight was the microsessions, the party, and the Movember excursion. Yes, that’s one highlight.
I’m a new fangirl of Jian’s, too.

So you were the hot Mad Men wife? Not that the others weren’t very pretty too. It was a great weekend of discovery. And Kensington Market is great!
