Well, we’re 4 days from our last camping trip of the year and 9 days from Evan’s first day of kindergarten!
How did that happen?
Oh well….this summer in Calgary has been amazing. We have had more sun and heat this year than any other since I moved here 7 years ago. It was glorious (and I have a tan to boot)!Yum! Jalapeno poppers for the win!
This weekend, we visited friends at Gull Lake (Northwest of Red Deer). The weather was a bit cool and quite windy so we didn’t spend much time at the lake but it didn’t matter. We spent the weekend relaxing, eating & drinking and the kids had a blast playing.
Even though summers are short here, I find that I do WAY more “summer-y” things here than in Alabama or Texas because you don’t take summer for granted. You know that it is short & you work to squeeze every last minute out of it before it’s gone.Me & my boy!
Evan is super excited about starting school. I asked him tonight what he thought his favorite part of school will be & he answered “EVERYTHING!!!!”
So, we’re squeezing in the last few days before our life changes and I have a little boy in school. It seems crazy to even consider because it seems like yesterday that he was born.
I’m a little sad about summer leaving but I love Fall. I also love that Evan is so excited.
