After a week of wall to wall Stampede events and a diet of all fried food all the time, it is time to get back on track. Before you think I’m going on the straight and narrow, you should realize that I don’t have that much will power. My track is more wide & meandering. But it’s a track, people! What more do you want?
Lately I’ve been walking at least 30 minutes but often for an hour. Occasionally, I even *gasp* run. I know…crazy! It’s not bootcamp and I don’t wake up unable to move the next morning but it does check the box next to exercise & I can fit it into our life. Win-win!
So what keeps me motivated? These days it’s my Fitbit. Knowing how active I have been through the day helps me make sure I am active every day. If I look down & it’s supper time & I’ve only walked 5000 steps, out for a walk I go. Measuring really does make the difference!
So, I may not be headed to super-skinny but I am headed to long term health. It’s enough for me.

if i didn’t ride my bike to work everyday, i’d be screwed on the excercise thing. when the weather gets too cold and the snow too deep, i usually put on my “winter layer.” i need to figure something out for those months.
Yeah winter is a whole other ball of wax. I’m thinking about buying a treadmill for the basement.
I am pretty glad to see that you are back on track. The fun of treadmill is really unique. Collect is asap.

My motivation? I don’t want to end up in hospital again! It sucks! I want to be a positive influence on my niece and nephew.
Also, being able to slip in to my jeans. Not having to find the “skinny pose” when people whip out their cameras. I love how much non-caffeine-induced energy I have, now that I’ve started exercising on a regular basis (not that I don’t still love my coffee, but NOW I AM A BEAST!). Working out has also improved my posture! I stand taller and make full use of my 5′
.
