Ok….so adventures might be a bit of a stretch unless you are 5 but Sunnyside and Eau Claire are definitely worth a bit of exploring! Evan loved our stint as Sunnyside dwellers. All I had to do to get a walk in was mention that we could go exploring. Often he led the way to show me something he found while out walking with our nanny, Raweewan.
Here are some pictures of what you can expect to see on your walk:
First stop….exploring Sunnyside. Many of our neighbors have urban gardens. Wildlife like birds, bunnies & squirrels are often visitors.
Next up….a jaunt across the bridge to Prince’s Island. Once you are in the middle, you can really feel this bridge creak and sway.
No Eau Claire visit is complete without a visit to the Prince’s Island playground. It has many options for kids of all ages.
After a rain, there are plenty of puddles to splash in or make into “potions” like my little magician.
Heading back to Sunnyside via the Peace Bridge allows for great people watching & a view of boats/rafts/paddle boards on the river.
If you look closely under the bushes along Memorial, you will see lots of interesting plants & animals…like this mushroom.
Don’t want to venture over to Prince’s Island? Head uphill to see (as Evan says) “THE ENTIRE CITY!” from the top of crescent.
What a view & what a neighborhood!

Calgary is such a beautiful city. Looks like you guys had a fun adventure.
I have never been there and it’s nice to see those beautiful places you’ve visited. I’d love to try the bridges. They look enormous!

So, so, so homesick for Calgary now! Thanks for the throwback!
We lived there for 7 years. I don’t miss winter but I do so miss Calgary and all my people there.

OH and we loved Fish Creek Park… and of course our own Tuscany Ravine. Griffith Woods is lovely too. There are so many lovely walks in Calgary. We can’t wait to come back for a visit… hopefully next year.

you should create a map with this trail on it. I really want to check it out, but I’m just not entirely certain where to start or how to get to that view of the skyline.
Here’s a map for you! https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=203357342417408607849.0004c4bd0876ec46d08a2
