Today I participated in the United Way Plane Pull with 14 of my co-workers. We had to work together to pull an 81,000 kg UPS Airbus A300 plane 15 meters. It took our team just over 17 seconds to do the pull but unfortunately that wasn’t quite fast enough to pull out a win. The winning team was from the University of Calgary and was full of Dino (football) players and speedskaters. Sadly our merry band of desk warriors couldn’t quite compete. Regardless, it was a great day and we raised money for a great cause. “How much?” you ask…I have no idea as we haven’t been given a total yet.
Here are some pics from the fun event. I really appreciated how the United Way made it a family friendly event complete with Lego building, crafts and a petting zoo!
All in all, it’s a great story to tell & I’m glad I did it.

We done! Looks like it was a fun day…at least the rain held off for the big “pull”!

Glad you and the family enjoyed it. Crystal is up to her elbows in post-pull pledges and rain soaked paperwork so still no final tally. Our main goal was family fun, a new event to get folks engaged and help those in Calgary that need some to ‘pull’ them up a bit. I was ready to scrub the petting zoo at 3:00 a.m. when rain still pounding down and dismal forecast – glad we held off as morning weather improved and the kids had a blast. I’ve been hoping to get a plane pull organized since my Canadian Airlines/Calgary Airport Authority days many years ago. United Way connection made it happen. Thanks for coming out.
Thanks for all the hard work that I KNOW went in to the planning, Bryce. Evan is very happy you didn’t scrub the petting zoo though he really liked the Lego table too.
I have been an active part of the United Way campaign at my work for many years. I think it is a worthwhile cause & I love being part of it!
Ha ha. I liked that. Good way to fun & earn!

You’re pretty awesome yourself.
The plane pull was fun! Glad I was there to experience it with you.
Me too & glad there will be yet another picture of you at Summit.
Wow! How many people does it take to pull a plane?

There were 15 of us on the team. It was pretty hard but we didn’t have to pull it very far.
