Today I accompanied Evan’s preschool class to the fire station. We were supposed to visit the police station too but that trip got cancelled at the last minute. Evan was very excited that I was going with him. We met 3 nice firefighters and learned lots about fire safety and firetrucks. Some of the safety tips they shared with the kids:
- If there is a fire go outside. Don’t stay inside (or go back inside) for stuffies, pets or to find mommy and daddy. Go outside and they will find you there.
- Though a fireman in full gear may look a little scary, never hide from them. They are there to help you get out of the house safely but they don’t have time to look for you.
- Plan a meeting place outside where your family will meet each other in case of a fire (like a neighbors house or a tree).

My kids aren’t old enough for field trips yet but their uncle is a Fire Fighter so that one is at the top of the list! Thanks for sharing, looks like your little guy had a blast!

We had a great time! A trip to the fire station would be even more fun if their uncle was giving the tour.
I have not gone on any field trips with him yet, but cannot wait for the day! I adore the first photo of your little guy!
We did a great one where the kids listened to a talk and then got to hand feed manatees … i took pics (no feeding)
