The International Festival of Animated Objects runs in Calgary from March 9-13th (now!). Next Saturday and Sunday they are running kid friendly animated shows & I have FREE TICKETS for you to win! There are two shows to choose from:
Book of Jonah – Run Time 1 hour – A world premiere at the International Festival of Animated Objects! The Book of Jonah explores the ancient art of shadow-puppetry, adapting one of the great Hebrew stories. Jonah, the reluctant prophet, receives a divine mission to rally the citizens of Nineveh to repentance. When Jonah runs away instead, he ends up in the belly of a great fish. This fascinating story combines mysticism and satire to explore the human capacity for both fear and faith, and the value of forgiveness. Plus there’s that awesome “getting vomited out by the fish” part.

Monkey Business -Run Time 30 minutes – Specially created for young people at the age of 3 – 8 years, but nevertheless for all ages.Fresh from international festivals in USA, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, and Montreal, Madame Cecilia and Monsieur André present a performance filled with acrobatics, pranks, tricks and magic. These monkeys are circus performers extraordinaire and will dazzle and astound young and old with balancing, juggling, lion taming, roller-skating, knife-throwing, and, of course, the flying trapeze! New innovations in marionette technology allow this circus of monkeys to perform feats beyond your imagination.
